  • Overview

    Performs screening and diagnostic mammography procedures under the direction of a Radiologist.


    • Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures and standards
    • Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements to achieve clinical, satisfaction and/or efficiency outcomes
    • Performs mammography procedures to aid in diagnosis determination
    • Provides appropriate shielding to assure radiation protection
    • Assists in maintenance of equipment to ensure proper function and availability
    • Assists Radiologist or other staff physicians in procedure performance to expedite patient flow
    • Maintains supply inventory to ensure availability of required items


    • Associate's degree from an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
    • BLS through the American Heart Association for the Healthcare Provider
    • R.T. (R)
    • R.T. (M) preferred
    • Has been trained in all aspects of mammography
    • Possesses skill and knowledge to operate mammography equipment
    •  Ability to use a computer and applications that are associated with performing basic work tasks (use a mouse, navigate in Windows, Outlook, etc)
    • Skilled in developing effective rapport with customers, co-workers, or families, actively listening to develop a positive connection
    • Observes and collects pertinent data and/or clinical findings to enhance patient outcomes
    • Demonstrates practices that support safety with recognition of variations in populations served, preventing harm to patients, families, employees, and themselves
    • Demonstrates behavior consistent with the standards, scope of practice, ethics, and characteristics of a licensed professional
