  • Overview

    Works directly with the PACS Administrator and Imaging Leadership on any activities that involve work flow, implementation, and evaluation of future needs for VNA. Coordinates with all staff in order to support the enterprise VNA-NilRead application systems. Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Image Resource Center including work ques, internal, external, patient and physician requests.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Supports computer designs in coordination with the PACS Administrator/Image Resource Center to provide accurate data management
    • Supports educational activities by participating in instruction for all personnel and physicians to ensure accurate operations of departmental PACS/VNA
    • Actively engages with vendor to ensure communication between Radiology department and the vendor
    • Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards
    • Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements
    • Performs other responsibilities as needed/assigned

    Qualifications

    • Associate's Degree
    • Minimum of two years of experience with IS applications, computer technology and radiology
    • Experience requires a comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of a radiology department and/or a healthcare facility
    • Computer, analytical, communication, problem solver and organization skills required
    • Ability to work closely with internal and external customers. Must work well with others (training, open communication, etc.)
    • Data Entry: Skilled in entering data and calculating items for processing; input of data into computer systems
    • Interpersonal Communication: Skilled in developing effective rapport with customers, co-workers, or families, actively listening to develop a positive connection
    • Medical Terminology/Spelling: Familiar with medical terminology and medical spelling
    • Ability to interact effectively, listen actively and develop positive working relationships with diverse customers and staff honoring different world views
    • Quality Improvement: Systematic approach to reduction or elimination of errors, work back-flow
    • Records Management: Knowledge of appropriate data collection policy and procedures, filing systems, data management systems, and programs
    • Ability to compile, assimilate, organize, and store printed and electronic information
    • System/Process Thinking: Is dedicated to providing organization common systems for designing and measuring work processes
    • Is committed to continuous improvement through empowerment and management by data, is open to suggestions and experimentation
    • Creates a learning environment leading to the most efficient and effective work processes
